From Page to Stage: Tina at the International Impact Book Awards

The moment I walked into the International Impact Book Awards (IIBA) Gala in Phoenix, AZ, on July 26, 2025, I felt the energy, the excitement, the sense of being part of something bigger than myself. A room full of international authors, all there to celebrate storytelling, reminded me immediately why writing matters: it connects us, challenges us, and has the power to transform.

Seeing my memoir recognized in the Transformative Story category on an international stage was nothing short of incredible. I spent years pouring myself into this book, wrestling with doubt, wondering if anyone would connect with it or if it would make a difference. To see it acknowledged this way was validation not just of the work itself, but of all the vulnerability, honesty, and persistence it took to bring it to life.

What made the evening even more meaningful was seeing authors from every genre: memoir, science fiction, business, and more, celebrating alongside me. Every one of them had taken a leap in putting their work into the world. Writing a book is no small feat: while over 80% of people dream of writing one, fewer than 10% ever finish, and even fewer publish and distribute it. The courage and commitment that it requires, especially for indie authors handling everything themselves, is enormous. Being in that room made me appreciate it all the more.

There were moments I’ll never forget: the applause when my name was announced, the rush of stepping onto the stage, and the quiet thrill of seeing my name displayed amongst other winners. Being surrounded by authors from around the world was inspiring. Each person there had taken a risk to tell their story, and it reminded me how much bravery it takes to put yourself out there. There was an unspoken understanding among us: we’ve all questioned whether our stories matter, and yet we still chose to take the leap.

The gala was more than an awards ceremony. It reminded me why I write: to share stories that matter, to help others reflect and grow, and to leave something tangible behind that can reach people. The recognition was deeply satisfying, but the real gift was standing in that room and feeling part of a global community of storytellers who understand the power of a story.

I left Phoenix feeling grateful, energized, and more committed than ever to writing stories that matter. Every story has the power to touch lives, inspire change, and create connection. Being recognized at the IIBA gala affirmed that, and reminded me to keep sharing, reflecting, and creating work that makes a difference.

When I wrote this book, it wasn’t for accolades. It was for the woman I once was. The one who spent more time surviving than thriving. The single mother who cried behind closed doors, then wiped her tears and showed up anyway. The woman who decided that her story wasn't going to end in struggle.

Every word, every page, was a stand—for her, and for anyone who’s ever wondered if they could create something more.

Today, seeing that stand recognized on an international stage isn't just about me and winning an International Impact Book Awards for Memoir-Transformative Stories. It’s a reminder: the moment you stop waiting for permission and start claiming your life, everything changes. New futures open up.

This win is for the ones still stitching their lives together and aren't sure how. For the ones who feel the fire inside them—even on the days they doubt it. For the ones who know deep down: there is more.

We’re not done yet. We’re just getting started.

This award isn’t just a celebration—it's evidence. Evidence that when you stop shrinking, when you refuse to settle, when you choose to live fully, your world expands to meet you. You become the source, not the effect. You stop chasing life—and start being it.

To everyone who’s read the book, showed up, shared a post, supported me,—you’re part of this. Thank you! This isn’t just my win. It’s proof of what’s possible when you choose yourself.

Have you ever dreamed of writing a book—or even just making that next big move in your life?

In Live Your Dreams, Not Your Drama, I share why performance isn’t about how much you know, but about what you actually do. Too often, we get stuck in overthinking, planning, and waiting for the “perfect moment.” But action—not knowledge—is what creates results.

If you’ve ever felt trapped in the cycle of staying stuck, the chapter “Performance Isn’t Based in Knowledge” is written for you. It’s a gentle push (and a bold reminder) that you already have what it takes—you just need to move.

👉 Start turning your ideas into action today. Your story, your dreams, and your next chapter are waiting.
